Argie Banila was appointed as Assistant General Manager of Structured Financing & Investment Banking, in October 2023.
In her current capacity, Argie is leading the origination, structuring and execution of large-scale, strategic mandates across the capital financing and investment banking spectrum, for both local and international sponsors. 
Argie joined NBG in November 2017, initially as Deputy Head of Structured Financing and 3-years later, she was promoted to Head of Structured Financing. During her tenure, Argie was pivotal in reprofiling the Structured Financing business of the Bank in terms of organizational set-up, as well as client and sectoral positioning, with key focus on: i. Energy, ii. Real Estate, iii. Infrastructure and iv. M&A / Special Solutions. 
Argie brings dedicated Capital Markets, Investment Banking & Wholesale Financing experience across CEEMEA (including the UK), built from both local and international financial institutions, with key specialization on primary and secondary debt-related solutions, across products: Loans, Bonds, Securitization and Convertibles. 
Prior to NBG, Argie worked at HSBC Bank plc, leading  the bank’s origination and execution efforts across Global Markets & Capital Financing for Greek and Cypriot Sovereign clients and Financial Institutions. 
Prior to HSBC, she worked within the Debt Capital Markets & Structured Capital Markets divisions of various international institutions, including Deutsche Bank and RBS in London, UK.
Argie has attended full-round executive education at Columbia Business School, New York, US., with prime specialization on Mergers & Acquisitions, as well as Private Equity solutions.
Argie also holds an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School, London UK and a BSc in Finance & Banking Management from University of Piraeus. She is LMA certified and FCA registered. She speaks English and Italian.
