Outlook and potential of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) technology
At the 20th Fintech Talks, we welcome Mr Georgios Samakovitis, Professor of Banking and Financial Technology (FinTech), School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, University of Greenwich, London. He will present the outlook and potential of Central Bank Digital Currencies and the implications of their adoption for both the financial sector and for regulatory authorities. The operational features of CBDCs and their superiority over existing payment systems, as well as the technological potential unlocked mainly via DLT / blockchain, will also be discussed.
