The financing in more detail

 The following home energy upgrade interventions are financed:
Energy upgrade of a home leading to an upgrade by at least 1 energy efficiency class (resulting in ≥ B) or minimum energy savings of 30% compared to the energy required prior to the intervention (excluding RES). Selected residential equipment (e.g. insulation, cooling/heating systems, replacement of window frames)
Investments in RES (photovoltaic systems, home wind turbine, geothermal energy systems, etc.)
 

We will need a valid ID or passport and 'ΕΝ.Φ.Ι.Α' document.

Additionally, specific documents required (indicatively, depending on the case):

Upon application submission:

1st Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) (with improvements suggested by the engineer for achieving energy upgrade)
Proforma invoices/offers from suppliers/credit invoices
Invoices for technical consultant (engineer/energy auditor) expenses and building performance assessment (EPC)

After disbursement and within a three-month deadline:

2nd EPC with achieved energy target
Payment receipts and purchase contracts up to the amount of financing

Loan repayments are made in amortizing installments each month, beginning one month post the loan issuance date. Your installment is due on the same date monthly, directly debited from the account you have established or will establish at the National Bank of Greece. 
To ensure you're always up-to-date regarding your outstanding installments, current interest rate, and principal balance, you can leverage the “statements” service within Digital Banking. This allows for the receipt of your electronic notification, along with an email alert upon its issuance. Alternatively, opting for the postal service can ensure a monthly notification delivery. 

The interest rate is variable, anchored to the Euribor 3M plus an additional 2% margin.

A 2% discount on the comparable non-guaranteed Green Loan provided by the Bank is accessible, courtesy of the European Investment Fund (EIF) guarantee. This discount is contingent upon the timely submission, within one month (e-mobility)/quarter (energy upgrade) from the loan's disbursement, of documents verifying the loan's utilization for its intended eco-friendly purpose. Examples include an Energy Performance Certificate, paid invoices, or a registration for a zero-emission vehicle. Note that the variable rate is subject to fluctuations with the base rate changes, potentially affecting your installment amounts. Furthermore, the loan interest includes a 0.60% contribution as per Law 128/75.

Before you start

The required documents

To get the loan you want, we need to get to know you. We’ll need your ID, passport or residence permit depending on your nationality.

Proof of your income

 To get your loan, you don’t need to provide proof of income (e.g. tax clearance certificate, payslip).

Documents from merchant & civil engineer

To get one step closer to the Green Loan, you need to provide us with an EPC (energy performance certificate) with the improvements proposed by a civil engineer and pro forma invoices or offers proving the type of work and products you will buy, including their cost. For RES (e.g. photovoltaic panels), you needn’t provide an EPC.

How to apply

Visit a branch - submission of supporting documents - obtaining pre-contractual information - submitting an application

To start the process, you’ll need to visit an NBG branch and provide us with the supporting documents and invoices from a merchant and receive detailed pre-contractual information about the product so that if you are interested to acquire it, you can proceed to application.

Approval / signing / disbursement

On the same day, immediately after submitting the application, you are informed whether your application for the loan has been approved and, if so, you sign the relevant contract. The amount is then disbursed to your account.

Statements

  After the loan's disbursement you can sign up for the service 'Statements' to get notifications about the issuance of your statement via your email.
