Approval of transactions using the Fast Login PIN or biometric data

Now, you can approve transactions you carry out via Internet or Mobile Banking, using the Fast Login PIN or biometrics data (such as your fingerprint or FaceID) that you set up through NBG Mobile Banking!

More specifically, by activating this new functionality on your mobile, you will no longer receive and enter OTPs to approve transactions. Post activation:

  • for Digital Banking transactions, you will approve your transaction through a push notification on your mobile phone, either by entering the Fast Login PIN you have specified, or by fingerprint or FaceID.
  • for Mobile Banking transactions, you will directly approve your transaction in the same way.

Approving transactions with Fast Login PIN or biometrics is the new, easy and fast way to approve your Internet & Mobile Banking transactions.
Fast Login PIN or biometric transaction authorization is activated when you log in to the NBG Mobile Banking app. In case you do not receive a notification, you are given the option to approve the transaction by choosing to get OTP via Viber/SMS.

  • Transactions via Internet Banking: When a transaction is carried out via Internet Banking, you will receive a notification (push notification) for transaction approval, on the device on which you have the NBG Mobile Banking application installed and on which you have activated this feature.
    On your mobile phone you see the notification and choose "Approve" or "Reject" (depending on what you want to do).
    The action is completed using Fast Login PIN or biometrics.
    If the Fast Login Pin or biometrics are recognized, then you will see a success message on your mobile phone (the message is about correct typing of Fast Login PIN or recognition of biometrics).
    At the same time, in Internet Banking the transaction proceeds automatically and is completed successfully.
    Alternatively you can choose to receive OTP via Viber or SMS to your mobile phone.
  • Mobile Banking Transactions: When a transaction is made via NBG Mobile Banking, the transaction will be completed by authorizing it using your Fast Login PIN or your biometrics (Fingerprint or FaceID). As long as your Fast Login PIN or biometrics are correct, the transaction is completed successfully.
 

Do not worry. Access to the NBG Mobile Banking application that you have installed on your mobile phone requires, as a minimum, the mandatory activation of the Fast Login PIN and optionally the activation of your biometric features (Fingerprint or FaceID).

There is no limit to the number of devices on which you can enable Fast Login PIN or biometric transaction authorization.
Through the path: Profile > Settings > Notifications > Transactions, you can check the status (enabled/disabled).

Confirm that you have enabled Fast Login PIN or biometric transaction approval by going to the NBG Mobile Banking app, Profile > Settings > Notifications > Transactions.
In the event that you still do not receive notifications, check that you have enabled push notifications in your device Settings, and that the data on your device is turned on or that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
